Dentures vs. Implants
Like teeth, dental implants are anchored to the bone. While dentures may have been in use for well over 200+ years, not much has changed in denture technology.
Upper dentures rely on suction and lower dentures rely on balance for retention. Bone loss under the denture causes a progressively worse fit. There will also always be inherent problems with bite force dislodging dentures. Full palatal coverage often causes gagging and dentures need to be removed every night.
Dental implants are anchored into the bone and create a platform for fixed dental rehabilitation. Implants anchor a precision dental bridge to the jaws that won’t dislodge, has no palatal coverage and allows people to eat, speak and smile with confidence.
